The Origins of a Visionary Intuition
The story of Aloeplus® Dogs and Cats begins with a moment of pure disbelief, one of those moments that are forever etched in memory, thanks to a wonderful encounter.
We were fortunate to meet Father Romano Zago, the world's leading promoter of the recipe for the Aloe Arborescens preparation.
It was a time of experimentation and courage: our father, a veterinarian by profession, had always viewed aloe with a certain skepticism, convinced that its power was mostly a result of suggestion and hope. Yet, something drove him to try: he wanted to see if this plant, so praised for humans, could also provide concrete help to animals.
We are a family business present in the prevention and wellness market since 1997 with the brands Aloe-beta®, Aloeplus®, and AloeVet®.

The first sprout:
The first decision made was to NOT use the common Aloe Vera but another variety of Aloe that is much richer in active ingredients: Aloe Arborescens, a unique plant in nature for the number of active ingredients it contains.
It may seem like a minor choice, but in reality, it is very significant, and here’s why!
Various studies and recent literature have highlighted that Aloe Arborescens is much more effective when aiming for therapeutic efficacy of the product. And that is why we specialize in and only use organic Aloe Arborescens.
The main goal was to improve the quality of life for our friends in the animal kingdom as well.
Father Romano, enchanted by the idea, wrote us a letter:
The first proofs: From Theory to Real Life
Thanks to the friendship with a breeder of hounds, everything began. The first formulations were created by adapting human doses to the needs of dogs with serious problems: cases of dermatitis, persistent itching, chronic lack of appetite, but also serious conditions like pyoderma and leishmaniasis. The selected animals were, according to many, hopeless: dull eyes, lifeless fur, slow movements. Our father himself did not really believe in that attempt: he returned home convinced that he had created a formulation destined to have no effect.
The Call that Changed Everything
But reality exceeded the most optimistic expectations. A few days later, the breeder's call surprised him with the receiver halfway up: there were no complaints, but words of enthusiasm. The dogs were doing better. Some were jumping for joy, others were barking non-stop, all had bright eyes and suddenly shinier fur. No joke, no illusion: that effect, as he himself defined it, was miraculous. No placebo effect could explain the regained vitality of those dogs, unaware of what they were taking.
From Skepticism to the Birth of a Method
That result was a revelation: our father, who had always been convinced of the banality of aloe, was forced to reconsider his beliefs. From there began a path of study and refinement, which led to defining dosages, methods of administration, and combinations suitable for animals. It is from this insight, from that incredulous phone call, and from those reborn dogs, that Aloeplus® Dogs and Cats was born: a line of natural products designed to offer our four-legged friends the same gift that nature offers to humans, but with a scientific, veterinary, and responsible approach.
How was our processing method developed?
Sacrificing, in countless attempts, hundreds and hundreds of liters of Aloe.
For years we stubbornly sought a method that would allow us to eliminate the undesirable parts so that we could use this liquid extract in cosmetic products while preserving all the over 300 pharmaceutical elements present in the entire leaf and not just in the inner gel.
The cuticle, the outer part of the leaf, contains a huge percentage of active ingredients with anti-inflammatory characteristics. We could not leave this extremely high therapeutic potential unused.
The study on the processing method of the Aloe Arborescens leaf went on for a very long time without yielding the desired results. We really tried everything, we were about to give up until one day, during a friendly chat with an inventor friend experienced in building equipment to simplify farmers' lives, he unknowingly managed to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
He was talking to us about the development of some parts for the construction of a new machine that would revolutionize the way olives are harvested, when at one point he made the light bulb go on for us.
The crucial point was all there, in a simple move, modifying that phase of our processing would likely be the groundbreaking turning point.
Despite being discouraged by the hundreds of failed attempts, we decided that trying would certainly not be the end of the world.
What we set out to be the last attempt bore fruit.
Thanks to that modification, we finally managed to obtain a liquid extract of Aloe Arborescens derived from the whole leaf.
What are the benefits of cold dehydration with the HDR® Method?
With this method, we manage to keep all the active ingredients intact, ensuring the same effectiveness as the fresh product and a longer shelf life without resorting to preservatives and various additives.
No more sterilized Aloe at high temperatures, no more pasteurized Aloe, no more Aloe dried abroad and reconstituted in Italy with added water and preservatives. Finally, the joy of offering the elixir of long life, goodbye to denatured, modified, or weakened Aloe from reckless production processes, and here is the possibility of enjoying a very rich extract, with all the active ingredients present in the Aloe Arborescens leaf.
Our “holy grail” finally ready to be available to everyone. With this process, we managed to completely overturn the concept of the product with Aloe, leading to the creation of Aloe Arborescens in capsules.
With this creation, we said goodbye to the usual problems of homemade preparations, preparations with preservatives, pasteurized Aloe, sterilized, dried abroad, and reconstituted in Italy with added water and various additives.

We work only with Aloe Arborescens sourced from Italian organic farming, with leaves older than 5 years.
